Reminder: Trunk or Treat at Plainfield Elementary School, Sunday October 30th from 1:00-4:00 p.m. Please join us for fall games, crafts, and "Trunk or Treating!" Costumes encouraged!

Reminder: We have early release days on Thursday, Oct. 27 and Friday, Oct 28 for our Caregiver-Teacher Conferences. Students will be dismissed at 12:50 pm (exactly 2 hours early.) All families have been assigned a time to meet with their child(ren)’s teacher(s.) We tried to schedule families with multiple children in close proximity to avoid multiple trips to the school. Your child(ren)’s homeroom teacher(s) should have notified you of your scheduled time(s). If you have not yet received confirmation of your time, please reach out directly to your child’s teacher. If your time does not work, please work with your child’s teacher to reschedule as needed.

Basketball: Preseason Skills and Drills at The Plainfield School. The Lebanon Staff is running a Skills and Drills Clinic for grade 5-6 and 7-8 boys and girls. These clinics are on the following Sundays: 10/23; 10/30 and 11/06 from 9:00 am - 10:30 am for grades 5-6 boys and girls; 10:30-12:00 for grade 7-8 boys and girls. We look forward to seeing you.

Last Wednesday, the School Board voted to once again hold the FAST program at Whaleback with a number of tweaks to allow for more make-up day possibilities and increased supervision on the mountain. This will definitely require a healthy core of parent volunteers. We are hiring a FAST volunteer coordinator who will work closely with the office to make sure all groups of skiers are matched with supervision on the mountain. The Plainfield School Wellness Committee will hold a meeting on October 17 from 3:10-4:30 p.m.. This meeting will take place in the Plainfield Elementary School Library.

The Plainfield School Board budget committee will hold a meeting on Friday, October 14 at 1:00p.m.. This meeting will take place in the Plainfield Elementary School SAU office.

Reminders: Tomorrow, Thursday, October 6, is an early release day for students. Dismissal is at 12:50. It is also picture day! Friday, October 7 is a teacher work day, so there is no school for students. There is no school Monday, October 10th in observance of the federal holiday.

The 7th and 8th grade Hulbert trip was a success! Take a sneak peak at these photos. The group should arrive back at PES shortly!

PTA Potluck Event Update The PTA is postponing the potluck event that was originally scheduled for this Friday, September 30th. They hope to coordinate with the Arts in Residence event when that is rescheduled. Stay tuned!

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Youth Beatz artist in residence is postponed until a later date. Stay tuned for more information in the coming weeks. For now, we will hold onto these awesome stage decorations being created by our 5th and 6th grade students during art class.

8th Grade Parents and Student Meeting Wednesday, Sept. 21st at 6:15 pm in the PES Gym. Please join this very important class meeting to hear about fundraising, class events and all the fun that will be leading up to the end of the year class trip.
