Please be reminded that Friday is an early release day for PES. Students will be dismissed at 12:50. Pick up/bussing occurs exactly 2 hours early. Please plan accordingly.
As you plan, we are pleased to report there WILL be two FAST options beginning this week.
Horsemanship is taking place for all who opted to attend an extra session this Friday. Participating students should bring a note to ride P6 to the Willow Brook Farm and will need to be picked up there (462 Willow Brook Road, Plainfield) by an authorized caretaker by 2:50 pm. There is no transportation back to the school.
In addition, Whaleback is a go for this Friday. They have been making snow all week and are excited to have us there this Friday! Students will ride buses to Whaleback and will need to be picked up by a caregiver no later than 5 pm. Here's what you need to know in preparation for Friday:
1. Please bring LABELED (name and grade) equipment (skis, poles, helmet, boots) to the school by 10 a.m. Friday morning.
2. Friday, morning, please leave equipment at the end of the building (along the music room, parallel to the drop-off lane) There will be people there to help direct you.
3. Be sure to pack extra snacks or money for students to purchase snacks at Whaleback
4. Please remember to pick your child(ren) up by 5 pm. You will need to sign your child(ren) out at the PES table inside the lodge (enter from the deck side.)
Also, for students renting equipment, please make sure to get the fitting done before Friday to make sure your child(ren) can get as much ski and board time as possible. Your last chance is tomorrow right after school.
All other FAST programs will begin on Friday, January 20th. If you do not yet have the equipment (e.g. xc skis, snowshoes, or skates, etc.) please reach out to your child's teacher. We do have some equipment here.
Looking forward to some winter fun (THINK SNOW!!!)
Best,
Audra

Celebration Books 2.0 starts this week, 12/12, and runs until 12/24. The Celebration Book event has traditionally taken place in the LLC during the open house evening. This year we are trying something a little different; Celebration Books is going digital.

Pizza and Salad will be served
At this kick off and info night we will talk about important season logistics, dates and things you need to know and prepare for to have a great season.
Since we are a non-profit organization, we rely on volunteers. So, we will also review volunteer opportunities and how you can help this season. Lastly and most importantly, athletes will get to meet other athletes they will be skiing with and meet their coaches.
Please email us with any questions:

Just a Reminder: The Plainfield and Cornish School Districts are beginning the search process for their new Superintendent of Schools. Input from our constituents is essential to this process, and we’re calling for volunteers to be part of the search committee. We are interested in having volunteers from both the schools and our communities in order to ensure we hear multiple voices.
This process will begin in November and be finalized in February, taking an average of about 1 or 2 hours per week.
If you’re interested in participating, please send a letter of interest by November 28, 2022 to:
Dr. Sydney Leggett
92 Bonner Road
Plainfield, NH 03770
You may also email your interest to
sleggett@plainfieldschool.org or
sydney.leggett@cornishschool.org.
All letters for consideration must include the following:
● Name
● Address
● Best Phone Contact
● Constituent Role (e.g., educator in school, taxpayer, parent, multiple)
● Reason for interest
● What knowledge and skills you will bring to the committee
