Good Evening!

I’m afraid it’s been a blissfully boring weekend on this front. No tree escapades to report (still standing so far!) We are preparing for a very busy week and there are many announcements to share so I’m going to dive right in:

Winter Concert Must-Knows

Just a reminder that there will be two winter concerts on December 14th in the school gym. Both the 1:00pm and 6:00pm concert is open to all.

For the 1:00pm concert, students do not need to dress up. However for the 6:00pm concert, please have your child wear concert attire. Here are the guidelines:

Concert attire:

- Nice shirt/blouse

- Nice pants (no holes, grass stains, etc.)

- Dresses must be at the shortest just above the knees

- Close toed shoes

To ensure that your child performs as well as they can, and that logistics go as smoothly as possible, please have your child arrive by 5:45pm for the 6:00pm concert. All K-2 grade students will check in with their homeroom teachers. 3-8 grade performers will head straight to the gym to find their seats.

Please let Ms. Chien know if you have any questions or concerns: bchien@plainfieldschool.org

POPCORN FOR SALE AT SNACK TIME

Grades 3/4 classes are getting the tradition of selling popcorn before the holidays back up and running! Mrs. Taber’s class will be making popcorn to sell on Thursday (12/15) & Friday (12/16) this week. It will be available to all grades during their snack times. Each bag is 50 cents. The proceeds go towards food gift cards for the town food pantry.

OTHER IMPORTANT REMINDERS/INFORMATION

  • We are looking for community members to join the Capital Facilities Project committee. See attached flyer for more information.
  • FAST Survey still available. It is due this Friday!
  • Looking for lost gloves, water bottles, coats, sweatshirts, or other items? Check our Lost and Found page.
  • Ms Wolfinger is interested to offer after-school Art Club again this year. If you would like to learn more and sign up to participate, please fill out this FORM
  • After-school plans for students in grades 5 to 8:
    • Students in grades 5 to 8 stay for study hall Monday through Friday (3 to 4:15 pm) provided they have a note from a caregiver.
    • Students who are planning to walk to a friend’s or somewhere else, may do so and also must have caregiver permission by 2 pm.
    • We do not allow students to come to study hall and then call a caregiver for permission to leave. Please decide ahead of time with your child which one they will be doing.
    • Please note: It seems to be a trend for student-athletes to obtain caregiver permission to walk to the deli after school (and before a practice.) Please note that Route 120 is getting dark by the time students are returning to school. Make decisions with this in mind.
