Audra Bucklin

Hello All,

We sent home important communications and forms and wanted to be sure to catch you early to bring them to your attention. I will not be sending a Sunday night email this week (unless I forget something :))

In your child's backpack, you should find two forms to sign and return as follows:

Title I Compact - this is a form required annually for our Title I funding. It clarifies the home/school partnership on behalf of student learning including the services and support every child receives as well as the availability of additional supports as needed. It also highlights how important it is for caregivers to reach out with any concerns regarding academic performance or experience. Thank you in advance for signing and returning this important document.

Student Parent/Handbook Form - This form was inadvertently omitted from this year's handbook.  The handbook is available online for your review (click on the link above.) We encourage you to review the handbook carefully with your child if you have not already done so. Being on the "same page" is important to our partnership. Thank you for signing and returning this form at your earliest convenience.

GRADES 3 to 8 Only

Laptop Use Agreement - This form was completed at school by students and now needs caregiver signatures.

We are pretty much done with iReady testing. There will be some makeup tests, but otherwise, next week is shaping up to be a fun-filled and very busy week.

UPPER GRADES ADVENTURES

Students in grades 7 and 8 will spend Monday to Wednesday at Hulbert Outdoor Center. We are looking forward to plenty of team building, adventure, and hopefully some s'mores (I get to spend the night there Tuesday and Wednesday!)  Caregivers should watch for a separate email with last-minute reminders and instructions.

Students in grades 5 and 6 will enjoy their annual Cardigan Mountain Hike on Wednesday, September 28.

Youth Beatz Public Performance - Friday, September 30 at 5 pm

Next week we also welcome Youth Beatz for a Drumming Artist in Residence experience for students in all grades. Throughout the week, Mr. Rich from Youth Beatz will engage students in drumming lessons with a focus on team building and finding one's voice. The whole experience will culminate in a school-wide assembly Friday afternoon at 2 pm as well as a public performance for all interested students and families Friday at 5 pm in the gym

PTA Potluck - Next Friday, September 30th at 6 pm

Please join us immediately following the 5 pm Youth Beatz performance for a community potluck.

As September winds down, we want to once again thank you all for a wonderful start to the year. I feel so lucky to work in a place so committed - at every stakeholder level - to children and learning. I hope you will join us in celebration next Friday night!

Enjoy your weekend!
