Hello!
I am getting this week’s memo out early. I want to be sure you all remember there is a Silent Auction today from 4 to 6 at the Plainfield Town Hall. The proceeds benefit the Class of 2024 (for their class trip) and it promises to be a really fun time with LOADS of amazing prizes ranging from local gift certificates to an AirBnB in Costa Rica. I hope to see you there!
This week is Teacher Appreciation Week. We are looking forward to the always amazing PTA luncheon and other surprises to remind our teachers just how much we appreciate them. As part of this, Wednesday is “Tropical Day!” We hope everyone will dress in their favorite tropical vacation wear (school appropriate…no bikinis) to celebrate the warm weather and create a spirit of fun and festivity!
Other announcements for the week:
Monday our 3rd through 6th graders will attend the 5th Grade BridgeUP dress rehearsal. This year we are combining with Cornish so students can see both schools’ skits!

7/8 Field Trip to the Montshire - 7th and 8th Graders are going to the Montshire this Thursday, May 11 for a “Forensic” experience on Thursday. This field trip is available through Dartmouth’s SEPA program (Larry Bilodeau is one of the Upper Valley Educators accepted into this program.)
Plant Sale - This Thursday and Friday students can support the Student Council and purchase flowering gifts for moms and families to enjoy this spring!

KUA Athletics-One Love Foundation Event on May 10
Kimball Union Academy welcomes our neighbors in the Plainfield community to join us on Wednesday, May 10 for an afternoon of athletic games that will highlight our partnership with the One Love Foundation, a national organization with a mission to promote healthy relationships.
Join us for an afternoon of games and a cookout on the KUA campus. Wear blue in honor of the foundation, meet KUA athletes and participate in lawn games, and support the foundation through a student bake sale. The event, sponsored by KUA’s One Love Club and DEIJ Athletics Council, is free of charge.

Study Hall Hours - We are no longer offering Tuesday or Friday Study Hall due to a lack of staffing coverage.
After School Program Next Fall - We are looking ahead to the fall and hoping to offer an after school program but this will depend on staffing. Please share the following job announcement widely (fingers crossed!):
