Audra Bucklin

Good Evening!

I hope you all had a chance to see Newsies at the Briggs Opera House this weekend. I was completely blown away by the performers, set designs, and incredible teamwork. BRAVA! Special thanks to Samantha Davidson Greene, Brenda Chien, and Valarie Newton for your vision and to Katie Mans, Olga Demidova, and the countless helpers and parents for your tireless support of our students.

Thank you to all who attended (or will be rescheduling) your parent-teacher conference. We really appreciate and enjoy you being here! Many of you had a chance to chat directly with your child’s teacher about the report card and our competency-based grades. If you are looking for more information about how to interpret our grading and feedback, you may find this ARTICLE helpful.

Competency-Based Instruction is more than just the standards. Competency-based instruction done well ensures that we more deeply understand what each child needs to know, what they do know, and how to best support and challenge each and every learner. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher if you have questions about the report card.

As the Musical winds down, we are looking forward to the Student Council sponsored Spirit Week. (See attached flier) Each class will earn points based on the percent of students who participate.

NH BRIGHT FUTURES SURVEY - One last reminder!

Please be reminded the state has released the annual “Bright Futures Survey.” This survey is administered to families, staff, and community members and provides critical information for the state, our local school board, and the administration and teachers. We use the information to set annual and strategic goals, determine training needs, and steer programs here at PES. Thank you in advance for taking the time to complete the survey:

PLAINFIELD RECREATION DEPARTMENT - Summer Programs

The Plainfield Recreation Department has released the baseball/T-ball registration forms (see attached) and is also excited to announce the return of live music for the annual 4th of July parade. Check out the attached flier for details of how you and your family can get involved!

Finally, as mud season is quickly approaching, the Nurse’s office is alarmingly low on replacement clothing, especially mittens and pants for smaller (K-4) students.  If your kids have outgrown mittens, pants or sweatpants that you’d be willing to donate, please bring clean clothes to the Nurse’s Office.

Speaking of belongings, please remind your child(ren) to check Lost & Found and clean out their lockers and desks. Teachers will be helping with this throughout the week as well. Please don’t forget you can view our Lost and Found closet online. The lost and found website is updated weekly.

Thank you!

Audra
