Fifth grade celebrated their 1,000th day of school on Monday, February 13th! Don’t believe us? Let us prove it. Fifth graders have completed 5 grades, each of which is 180 days, or 900 days in total. Add 100 more days of school to that, and you have 1,000 days of school! The 100th day comes every year, but the 1,000th day only comes once in a lifetime.

Fifth graders began the day by planning what they would buy if they had $1,000. When they completed their math they were awarded $1,000 fifth-grade bucks to make their purchases. Fifth graders from both classes then paired up to brainstorm 1,000 memories from school. We put all of our memories on paper strips and connected them into a chain. In the end, we had MORE than 1,000 memories, and our paper chain stretched all the way from the kindergarten door to the back door of the middle school hallway!
